This past month I was blessed with the opportunity to  attend the 19th International Festival of Poetry in Medellín, Colombia. I was fortunate to meet and share with many  outstanding poets and artists from all over the world who are working hard towards building a world culture of peace.

I’ve just returned from a 10 day silent meditation retreat at the Vipassana Centre, south of Barrie.  The experience was intense yet beautiful, and has prepared me for the work ahead this summer. I continue on the next draft of Saltwater & Cinnamon Skin, my first novel, which will be coming out spring 2011 with Tightrope Books.

In the meantime, here are some morsels of spirit nourishment I got from my silent time away.  For more information on the centre visit: www.torona.dhamma.org.

Wishing you lots of light and laughter this summer!
